Advanced Provider Staff Jobs FAQs

A specialized recruiter will reach out to learn about your career goals and preferences, helping you identify staff jobs that align with your skills and ideal location. After selecting an employer, you’ll participate in a phone screen with your recruiter, who will also gather your resume to present to the facility. Your recruiter supports you through every step—from setting up interviews with the hiring team to helping secure your offer

Staff roles are permanent positions, so they don’t have contract end dates. However, if relocation assistance or sign-on bonuses are provided, certain commitments may apply. These will be discussed during your initial phone screen.

Start dates are flexible and will align with your availability.

Once you accept a staff or permanent offer, your employer will be the healthcare facility or health system directly.

Many healthcare facilities offer sign-on bonuses, relocation assistance, or other incentives to attract APPs. Some jobs will even include all three.

However, some facilities do not allow the full details of their bonuses or incentives to be advertised publicly. To ensure you’re aware of the best available opportunities, it’s always a good idea to speak directly with a recruiter who can share the details and help match you with positions offering the most competitive incentives.

Our established connections with healthcare facilities across the U.S. help you get noticed quickly, and we often access roles that aren’t publicly posted. In fact, nearly half of healthcare positions aren’t advertised, making them difficult to find through traditional job searches. Plus, we offer resume advice, insight into facilities and locations, interview tips, and relocation support. Best of all, our services are free for providers.

Matches are jobs that align with your experience, specialty, and preferences. Matches may include details like location, pay, incentives, and requirements. Since new jobs may be posted daily, signing up for job alerts ensures you’ll be among the first to know about opportunities that fit your background.

This varies widely; some jobs may fill in hours, while others might remain open for weeks. Urgent needs or highly competitive roles may be filled more quickly. It’s best to express interest as soon as possible so your recruiter can get you submitted before the job gets filled.

Absolutely! We often arrange for friends, coworkers, or significant others to work at the same facility. Even if they’re in a different specialty, we’ll do our best to find a fitting position so you can work together.

Locum Tenens Job FAQs

Locum tenens refers to temporary medical positions where healthcare providers fill in for others, such as during staff shortages or absences. This arrangement allows providers, like Physician Assistants and nurse practitioners, to work on a short-term basis in various healthcare settings. Locum tenens offers flexibility and diverse experiences while addressing immediate staffing needs for healthcare facilities.

Opportunity Healthcare works with NPs, PAs, CRNAs, and Nurse Midwives.

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) choose locum tenens assignments for several reasons, including flexibility in their work schedules, the opportunity to explore diverse clinical environments, and the potential for competitive compensation.

These roles allow APPs to gain varied experiences, enhance their skills, and maintain a better work-life balance. Additionally, locum tenens assignments can help bridge gaps in staffing, making it a valuable option for providers and healthcare facilities.

We have opportunities in various facility types and specialties, including outpatient clinics, urgent care, ERs, family practice, and specialty clinics.

Simply go to our job page and select locum tenens as the job type to explore all openings.

Opportunity Healthcare will help walk you through all required documentation, credentialing, and facility requirements.  Our team aims to make this process quick and as easy as possible.

Locum tenens providers are used across a wide range of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, private practices, urgent care centers, and specialty clinics. These providers are especially valuable in rural hospitals, community health centers, and facilities in underserved areas, where they help fill temporary gaps in staffing.

However, experience can enhance your marketability and broaden your range of potential assignments. Seasoned professionals can often command higher rates and have more flexibility in choosing their placements.

Nurse Practitioner Jobs FAQs

Hot spots for Nurse Practitioner jobs include rural and underserved areas where healthcare shortages drive high demand. States with full practice authority—such as Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and New Mexico—are especially appealing, as NPs can practice with greater autonomy and perform a broader scope of duties without physician oversight.

California also remains a significant hot spot due to its large population and ongoing need for healthcare professionals across urban and rural regions. Facilities in these areas value NPs’ ability to fill critical jobs offering competitive pay and opportunities to practice at the top of their license.

The scope of practice for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) defines their ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, including prescribing medications. It varies by state and falls into three categories: full, reduced, or restricted practice authority. States with full practice authority allow NPs to work independently, while others require physician collaboration or supervision.  Refer to our Ultimate Scope of Practice Guide to learn about state practice environments and working in new states.

Each state has its own process, and understanding the timeline is essential for planning assignments.  Refer to our licensing guide to get specific details on each state.

Our established connections with healthcare facilities across the U.S. help you get noticed quickly, and we often access jobs that aren’t publicly posted. In fact, nearly half of Nurse Practitioner jobs aren’t advertised, making them difficult to find through traditional job searches. Plus, we offer resume advice, insight into facilities and locations, interview tips, and relocation support. Best of all, our services are free for NPs.
