Massachusetts RN License by Endorsement Process – Step by Step

1.) MUST COMPLETE – Read the Statutes, Rules, Regulations, and Policies

1. You will attest to reading this on the online application later.
2. STATUTES, RULES, REGULATIONS, AND POLICIES.
3. GOOD MORAL CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE.

2.) Submit Verification of RN License for original state and any other states where you hold licensure

1. If the state of licensure is a Nursys participant, order the verification using the following site:
   
   1. https://www.nursys.com/NLV/NLVTerms.aspx
   2. Verification Cost – $30 – pay online via Nursys
2. If the state does not participate in Nursys verifications, you must request the verification directly from the state (PA, CA-LPN).

3.) Submit Official Transcripts (1st nursing degree)

1. 1. Official Transcripts must be sent from your school directly to the MA Board of Nursing. They cannot be sent from the applicant.

OR

1. You may send transcripts to the MA Board electronically from a certified third-party electronic transcripts vendor such as www.Parchment.com or www.StudentClearinghouse.org, or directly from your school:
   
   1. Transcripts@pcshq.com Electronic Transcripts are to be sent here.
   2. Mailed Transcripts are to be sent to the address at the end of this document.

4.) 2X2 Color Photo – Passport Photo

1. You are required to submit and upload a 2×2 color passport photo to your online application.
2. Please take a passport-style photo of yourself. Picture from the shoulders and up with a solid light background behind you.

5.) Complete and Submit the MA Licensure for RNs by Reciprocity Online Application

1. Visit the following website and enter your initial information to apply:
   • https://manurse.pcshq.com/get-started/ Click Here to begin Application
2. Pay $275 Application Fee.
3. Complete and Submit your Application for MA RN License by Endorsement/Reciprocity.

Conditional RN License Approval Guidance

• Following receipt of completed application form and fee, PCS will verify licensure and conditionally approve the licensure application within three business days.
• PCS must receive from the applicant all licensure requirements, including supporting documentation, within 90 days or the conditional approval will be withdrawn and the license marked “expired.”
• The conditional approval authorizes full, unrestricted practice and will remain in effect until the Board approves the application, denies the application, or expires the conditional approval because the applicant did not submit supporting documentation to PCS within 90 days.

The names of applicants issued conditional approval will appear immediately in the Check-A-License section of the Board’s website at www.mass.gov/dph/boards/rn where licensure can be verified.
