Oregon RN License by Endorsement Process – Step by Step

1.) Create an Oregon Board of Nursing Account and Submit Application for Licensure by Endorsement

1. https://osbn.boardsofnursing.org/orbn/
2. Select “Apply For License” and Choose “RN by Endorsement”
3. Complete all application steps
4. Pay the application fees ($204) and submit the application

2.) Submit License Verification to Oregon for your initial state of licensure

1. If the state of licensure is a Nursys participant, order the verification using the following site:
   • https://www.nursys.com/NLV/NLVTerms.aspx
   • Verification Cost – $30 – pay online via Nursys
2. If the state does not participate in Nursys Verifications, you must request a verification directly from the state of licensure to the Oregon BON

3.) Submit Official Transcripts

1. Send official transcripts from your nursing school to the Oregon Board of Nursing:
   • Have transcripts mailed to the OR Board of Nursing
   • OR
   • You can send transcripts electronically by using the sites below: – recommended:
     1. Parchment
     2. https://www.studentclearinghouse.org
   • You can have your transcripts sent to the Oregon State Board of Nursing by sending to osbn.transcripts@osbn.oregon.gov

4.) Criminal Background Check Fingerprints

• Once you Submit and Pay for your application, you will receive an email with details on how to complete the fingerprints

5.) Must have completed 2 hours of cultural competency education within the past 2 years

• Retain copies of completion in case of audit

6.) Must have completed the Pain Management Education through the Oregon Pain Commission

IMPORTANT:

Fingerprints Needed: The state of Oregon contracts with Fieldprint Inc. to collect digital fingerprint images from applicants for the background check.

Fieldprint Inc has collection sites in every state. Applicants may have their fingerprints imaged by appointment only at any Fieldprint site across the country.
