Texas RN License by Endorsement Process – Step by Step

1.) Register for a TX BON account and apply for RN License by Endorsement

1. Register for your TX Board of Nursing account:
   1. • https://txbn.boardsofnursing.org/txbn
2. Select the appropriate Application Type
3. Begin the application and answer all required questions
4. Upload any additional supporting documents
5. Submit and Pay $186 for the License application

2.) Submit Verification of License for all RN licenses ever held from other states and jurisdictions

1. If the state of licensure is a Nursys participant, order the verification HERE:
   • Verification Cost – $30 – pay online via Nursys
2. If the state does not participate in Nursys verifications, you must request a verification directly from the state of licensure to the Texas BON

3.) Register and complete the Texas Nursing Jurisprudence Exam (NJE)

1. Register HERE:
   • Prep Course – if necessary
2. Complete and Pass the Exam – Results are sent directly to the TX Board of Nursing

4.) Criminal Background Check – Fingerprints

1. Contact Identogo to schedule your fingerprinting:
   • Phone: 888-467-2080
   • $10 + $29.75 fee for State and National Criminal History Record Info
2. Online – Schedule Fingerprint Online HERE:
   1. Click Schedule Appointment
3. Phone – Use the Service Code 119TF2:
   • Call 888-467-2080
   • Provide the Service Code and Schedule your appointment
4. Complete your fingerprints
5. The Fingerprinting Agent will provide you with an Identogo Receipt – HOLD ON TO IT
6. The fingerprints and results will be sent automatically
7. You can check your submission status at the following site:
   • https://uenroll.identogo.com/servicecode/119TF2

Temporary RN License

You are eligible for the temporary license once you complete your Online Application and License Verifications. You must complete your Texas Nursing Jurisprudence Exams as soon as possible and your TX Criminal Background Check Fingerprints.
